Schism in Your -Ism (2006)

Schism In Your -Ism
2 channel stereo playback, 4′

Premiered at the University of Texas at Austin Gamma UT conference on March 24, 2007, at Jessen Auditorium, Austin, TX.

Program Note:

Schism In Your -Ism is a piece that challenges the classic ‘uptown’ vs. ‘downtown’ struggle for supremacy in the marginalized world of academic electronic music. Complex spectral delays are interrupted with brash cyclical grooves, old school atonal gestures are mocked by guitar feedback, and a balanced organization of timbre is contrasted with sudden bursts of randomness. Can’t we all just get along?
