Program Note:
Drill, Baby, Drill was commissioned by the Sissy-Eared Mollycoddles and is scored for three saxophones and fixed media. The piece reflects on the disastrous Deepwater Horizon oil spill of 2010 through sounds of industry and political speeches. Throughout the work, the instruments and electronic audio spin a series of developing variations as the ironic, yet popular 2008 campaign catch phrase repeats ad infinitum.
